Belonging to Belfast

To herald a forthcoming visitor destination hub for Belfast, the City Council required a hearts-and-minds campaign to establish the city as a leading cultural tourism destination.

Using an amazing collection of film and photography from Belfast Exposed Archive and inspired by the poetic script created by Glenn Patterson I created experimental kinetic typography for director Amanda Bluglass’ film. I used a number of techniques to create the different etherial effects - from stop-motion using a light box, laser cut letters and transparencies, to hand drawn animation, to using a projector.
