Ever tried to quit smoking? But then been unable to resist returning to that toxic (but tempting) relationship again? And again. And again...

As a previous smoker, I wrote and directed this short film, narrated by Charlotte Ritchie of Ghosts & Fresh Meat fame, wanting to capture just how hard it is for smokers to stub out love’s flame.

Behind The Scenes Stills

I have a huge love of old cinema and incamera techniques. With a crack team, the key people consisting of: DOP Ian Forbes, Art Director Ruth Pickard, and Producer Greet Kalikorm we combined back projections and theatre like sets to achieve a 1950s Hollywood aesthetic.

“The director does a brilliant job of sucking you into her vibrant world, riddled with unfiltered rhymes, lush set designs and quirks by the dozen, which will leave you breathless. Smoking, or rather trying to quit smoking, has never looked so cool.”
